Where's the math?

Math is everywhere. Sometimes, we don't even realize we're "doing math" during our play. Here are some ways we are exploring math concepts in our Kindergarten classroom...

We explore patterns using small parts during our think & learn time.
and at the sticky easel using geometric shapes

We scoop and measure, then record our measurements at the sensory bin
Then we scoop and measure more during cooking projects!

Sometimes we work in independent centers, counting and sorting
 and building shape patterns.
Other times, we work as a group, counting and adding together using magnetic sticks...
... or rhythm sticks to count the beats.
Without even realizing it, we might count our friends

...as they come...

and as they go...

We're finding math in so many places!
